The View From Above: Kerry Park
For one of the best views in Seattle, head to the south side of Queen Anne Hill and visit the iconic Kerry Hill Park. With a booming view of the Seattle skyline, onlookers have the luxury of having an “all in one” experience — featuring views of the Space Needle, ferries crossing Elliot Bay, Alki Beach, the Downtown Seattle shipyard, Seattle Great Wheel and, on days with promising weather, a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier.
Located in a residential neighborhood, Kerry Hill is a peaceful park that becomes scattered with both tourists and locals looking to score a post-card worthy photo. Especially popular during sunset, Kerry Hill becomes a romantic date spot or a teenagers’ favorite look-out destination. With so many Seattle exclusive sites in a single frame, it’s a great way to take the city in, and is constantly in motion.
- Founded in 1853, Queen Anne is a beautiful historic neighborhood featuring many charming homes, cafes and restaurants.
- Parking can be tough during the evening – plan to park a few blocks away and walk down to the inimitable park.
- The park also features a “lower level” known as Bayview-Kinnear. Featuring a children’s playground, tennis courts and a lawn for playing with your dog, this space is a great “family friendly” hang-out.
- Feeling a bit crowded in the park? Take a walk down to the north side of Highland Drive and visit Marshall Park to catch a peak of the Olympic Mountains and the cultured Puget Sound.

Locals and Tourists say:
“Kerry Park should be [on] everyone's to-do list while visiting Seattle. You'll get an amazing view of [the] skyline with the Space Needle for sure. I came here twice with my friends during the night and day. It wasn't super crowded at all which is a plus. There's plenty of FREE street parking. For the 1st time that we came, we parked around nearby shops (i.e. Molly Moon Ice Cream and Top Pot Doughnuts) and walked to Kerry Park.” –Linda T., Yelp Review
“If you want to see an amazing skyline view of the Space Needle, the Wheel, just downtown in general, Kerry Park is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. I've been here twice so far and each time you can't help but fall in love with the view and taking advantage of the photo ops with the Space Needle in the background.” –Christina B., Yelp Review
“Beautiful, romantic, inspiring. Classic Seattle. What else is there to say? Breathtaking views of Seattle and the Sound day or night. It's a great spot to take a date or some out of town guests. Good for any occasion.” –Cassie N., Yelp Review
