Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty at the Experience Music Project
Now through May 15 celebrate the 40-year anniversary of this “superstar and global icon.” Don’t miss your chance to view an extensive Hello Kitty collection as a part of its worldwide tour. Highlights include: Themed couture dresses worn by Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Katy Perry, Nirvana Bassist Krist Novoselie’s Hello Kitty Fender Squier Stratocaster, “Kittypatra”- a 2-foot-tall fiberglass statue of Hello Kitty dressed as Cleopatra, Hello Kitty Dolls in KISS Army makeup, and a Hello Kitty Vans Sneaker. Thursday, February 25th, dine out at any of Nom Nom’s participating restaurants, and a part of the proceeds will go to benefit four Seattle area non-profits: Pike Place Child Care and Preschool, Beecher’s Pure Food Kids Foundation, Green Plate Special and Upower. Octopus Week at Seattle Aquarium
February 13th through the 21st, the Seattle Aquarium invites you to “wrap your arms around Octopus Week.” This fun family event will teach you everything you could possibly want to know about one of the oceans most interesting and odd creatures- the Octopus! Meet the octopi; enjoy live interactive games and octopus-themed story times. Octopus Week activities are free with admission and membership.
Daddy Daughter Dances (and one for Mothers & Sons!)
Love is spreading all over the Puget Sound- and that means it’s time to dance! Ties and Tiaras, Mother & Son Dances, and Daddy-Daughter Dinners are happening all over the area from Bellevue to Ballard. With prices ranging from $10-$15/couple; schools, community centers, gyms and recreation centers are opening their doors for evenings of sweet fun. Activities include dancing, karaoke, crafts, professional pictures and more. Most events require pre-registration so check out a complete list.
Get your neurons firing at the Pacific Science Center’s new Math Moves! interactive exhibit. Now through early May, your little mathematicians (and those who may be intimidated by math) will learn about motion, frequencies, comparing forms, sensing ratios, frequencies, shadow fractions, and more- all through hands-on activities!
