Take an out-of-the-box gastronomic adventure: July 7-11
James Beard Outstanding Restaurateur, Tom Douglas, hosts his annual 5 day culinary summer camp in Seattle
Tom Douglas’ Culinary Summer Camp is for the true food devotee. For food lovers looking for a unique vacation this year, chef and restaurateur Tom Douglas invites you to his 7th annual Culinary Summer Camp. The camp runs for 5 days, jam-packed with hands-on chef demos, field trips, tastes and beverage pairings, and contests.
“We eat and drink, then we eat and drink some more, and then we do it all over again!”
Culinary Summer Camp is a 5 day event that takes place here in Seattle, a city that's heartbeat can be found in the venerable Pike Place Market and that was recently described by Anthony Bourdain in an episode of The Layover as "The best and most interesting food scene in America. Period...unlike any place else."
Renowned for its focus on all things gastronomic, each day includes a wealth of eating and drinking, but it also includes cooking demonstrations with accompanying food and beverage tastings, hands on cooking, field trips, and most importantly, intimate access to highly regarded chefs and cook book authors that would otherwise be difficult to gain.
This year’s guest chefs include:
Thierry Rautureau | Rover’s & Luc
Amy Pennington | author of Urban Pantry & Apartment Gardening
Rachel Yang & Seif Chirchi | Joule & Revel
Meeru Dhalwala | Vij’s & Shanik

“Put away your passport and forget that Euro-foodie vacation. Tom Douglas’ Summer Camp is hands-down the most amazing culinary experience available... I’ve lost count of how many have told me Summer Camp was the best week of their lives.” – Darryl Duke, a veteran Summer Camp alumni.
